194: Christmas Hasn’t Happened

This thing called Christmas hasn’t happened. Well, not yet!  I hear rumours that, whatever it is, it is getting closer and things should start happening soon.

My beans seem to be taking lots of care - or at least using lots of time - to plan it to perfection…. and I get the impression it is costing them a lot of money - money that can could be spent on me.

I just hope it is worth it.  I’ve noticed with human beans generally that the more they plan and the more they spend, the less satisfied they are with the outcome.

They seem most pleased with incidents and events that are spontaneous …. they just happen, emerging ‘out of the blue’.   Of course such events cannot be planned.

Planning seems to lead to disappointment because it raises expectations - and the longer the planning, the more those expectations are raised.

Christmas is almost bound to disappoint  - it takes a couple of months to plan yet has so many factors that are not plannable - the weather and the health & well-being of participants, for example.

I am not sure whether my next blog post or Christmas comes first….. so it might be some time before you hear my definitive review of Christmas.

In the meantime, try to forget about Christmas until it happens …. and, keep munching!
