210: Funny-Tasting Food

You know my views on human beans - they are mysterious, strange, unpredictable, of limited intellect…. but necessary.

Even with my experience of their traits, I am still, quite often, surprised at their behaviour.  However, on investigation, it does seem that strange behaviour is often borne out of good intentions.

Take this week, for example.

On Tuesday, I had my normal breakfast.  (I call it ‘breakfast even though it is my main meal of the day since you humans will then know that it was in the morning after waking from sleep.)   The food, which looked as it normally does, tasted slightly different.   Not ‘bad’ or ‘nasty’ but different.  Of course, I ate it all - you never know when the next meal is coming.

Why did it taste ‘wrong’?

I decided to do dome sleuthing.

I waited till there was no-one in the kitchen and then nosed the waste bin open.  Immediately,  I found the evidence I needed. There was a package there that had obviously contained some form of medication.  There were long words that I didn’t understand but there were a few that I did

What did I find?

Gross!! It was a tablet that purported to stop me having ‘worms’ - live worms living in my body.

No wonder my beans didn’t tell me.  They probably knew that I would freak out.

But, of course, , they did what they did with good intentions.

Thank you, beans.
