258: Thankyou, Dog God
You will have noticed that for the last few days it has been considerably warmer. I am thankful to the dog God (or Gods)
After all, I was shorn of my warm coat recently. (They call it ‘Grooming’.) Now, it is beginning to look as though my beans were highly prescient or very lucky with their timing. What matters is that I am comfortable in my skin snd (limited amount of) fur.
Secondly, as some of you know, I am not the most active of dogs. Exercise always seems a waste of time. You exercise so you a get fit. You get fit so you can exercise, Am I missing something?
Warm weather is fine but sunny warm weather is great. No-one seems to be bothered if you do nothing but lie in the sunshine. If the weather is cold they expect you to react swiftly when they say “Let’s go for a walk?” but if the sun is shining and I just look out of one eye sleepily, they say “She’s enjoying the sunshine”. They leave me alone. Which is how I like it.
So, I’m sure that by the time you read this, the weather will have changed (this is the UK after all) and I will be trying to avoid the rain … but for now, I’ll lie here in the sun and count the walks I’ve managed to miss.
