300: The End
Yes, this is the 300th blog post - and the last.
I started in April 2019 to amuse neighbours during the lockdown of the Covid era
However, I recently heard John talking about his final day of employment (on Dec 31st 2025) and thought ‘Why should I go on working on this blog if that old bugger has retired?’
So I thought about it for several seconds and decided to retire at 300 (somewhat better than English test cricketers, eh?).
So, from now on, you’ll not have the insights, wisdom and occasional criticism I have been peddling for the last5 or 6 years; no more talk of visits to the vet, no comments on my diet. Nothing. Nada.
I know my audience falls into two camps - those who don’t care - and haven’t been regular readers for some time; and the glorious few that have taken a keen interest over all those years.
Both camps can be assured this is the final post - no Frank Sinatra-style comebacks. I wanted to go out at the peak of my powers and intellect. I shall shortly be 10 years old, so retiring is a sensible option.
As Douglas Adams so memorably put it “So long and thanks for all the fish!”
